So each week, I share some of my wine reviews (mostly from samples) and tasting notes with you via twitter (limited to 140 characters). - 12 Pietro Beconcini Chianti Riserva (Chianti): Now *this* is Chianti with integrity; impeccable, impressive, impossible to put down. $25 B+
- 12 Podera la Chiesa Opera in Nero (Toscana): Merlot that’s deep & focused, rather than broad; bring your sharpened intellect. $50 A-
- 14 Concha y Toro Marques de Casa Concha Peumo Vineyard Carmenere (Cachapoal): About as fresh & elegant a form as Carm can take. $22 B+
- 15 Concha y Toro Marques de Casa Concha Quebrada Seca Vineyard Chardonnay (Limari Valley): That chalky, lemony finish? That’s LEGIT. $22 B+
- 13 Viu Manent El Incidente Carmenere (Colchagua): The namesake might have been ill-fated, but its future is shining quite brightly. $60 A-
- 14 Viu Manent La Capilla Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Colchagua): Currants, chalk, and ample bright fruit bang for the buck. $20 B+
- 14 Viu Manent San Carlos Single Vineyard Malbec (Colchagua): Not at all fooling around in the grip, fruit, or value departments. $20 B+
- 15 Secreto de Viu Manent Viognier (Colchagua): Who’s afraid of a little green? Not you, when it’s paired with these heady peaches. $12 B
- 15 Wente Eric’s Chardonnay Small Lot (Livermore Vally, San Francisco Bay): Not quite harmonious, but certainly difficult to not drink. $25 B
- 15 Mt. Beautiful Riesling (North Canterbury): Limes and exotic fruits, looking for spicy Indian fare so that the table feels complete $22 B+
