Wine Reviews: Weekly Mini Round-Up For January 11, 20162 min read

So, like, what is this stuff, anyway?
I taste a bunch-o-wine (technical term for more than most people). So each week, I share some of my wine reviews (mostly from samples) and tasting notes with you via twitter (limited to 140 characters). They are meant to be quirky, fun, and easily-digestible reviews of currently available wines. Below is a wrap-up of those twitter wine reviews from the past week (click here for the skinny on how to read them), along with links to help you find these wines, so that you can try them for yourself. Cheers!

  • 12 Achaval Ferrer Quimera (Medoza): Still 1 of the most elegant Mendoza meals for the cash; next time, just hold the side of toast. $35 B+ >>find this wine<<
  • 12 Howell Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon (Howell Mountain): Wants to balance supple & grippy; oh, & it pretty much nails it. $75 A- >>find this wine<<
  • 13 Ron Rubin Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Russian River Valley): Butter & oak dress, but all svelte fresh apple queen underneath. $20 B+ >>find this wine<<
  • 13 Ron Rubin Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley): Fun, but takes too long of a disco nap in the middle of the party $25 B >>find this wine<<
  • 08 Bodegas Paniza Artigazo (Carinena): Bring this your spicy brisket, and it shall bring you its lush dark berried goodness. $28 B+ >>find this wine<<
  • 13 Bodegas San Valero Particular Garnacha (Carinena): What you shouldn't be too particular about is spending money on this juicy stash $10 B >>find this wine<<
  • 14 Bodegas Terras Guada O Rosal (Rias Baixas): Openly mocking your rather paltry attempts at shunning its floral & tropical charms. $24 B+ >>find this wine<<
  • 12 Lauren Ashton Cellars Cuvee Meline (Columbia Valley): Close your eyes, & you might just be sipping on a tasty Bordeaux Blanc. $28 B+ >>find this wine<<
  • NV Bodegas U Mes U Fan Tres 1+1=3 Brut (Cava): Not mind-blowing enough to defy mathematics, but capable enough to get you smiling. $18 B+ >>find this wine<<
  • 09 Mas Belles Eaux Les Coteaux (Languedoc): Meaty, gamy bang is delivered in spades here, for not a lot of your hard-earned bucks. $20 B+ >>find this wine<<
