  • 07 Rued Chardonnay (Russian River Valley): Aromatic & *almost* balanced at 14.5 abv with stone fruits galore. Pretty good deal for $18. #
  • 05 Blair Wedding Cuvee (Pennsylvania): Bad label, good wine. One of the spiciest (& best) East Coast Cab Franc blends I've had in a while. #
  • 08 d'Arenberg 'Broken Fishplate' Sauvignon Blanc (Adelaide Hills): From tropical fruit to an herbal finish. But the ride btw is a bit bumpy. #
  • 08 Cono Sur Vision Pinot Noir (Colchagua Valley): All of the jammy fruit that PN can muster, & then some more jammy fruit for good measure. #
  • Senor Sangeria (NV): Fruity (red) w/ pleasing sweetness & acidity. Pour this at a party, & it's gone in a flash. Great work & a fun concept. #
  • 07 Bonny Doon Le Cigare Blanc (Monterey): Like an amuse-bouche, but it's a pear soaked in tasty booze. Thank you sir, can I have another? #
  • 05 Diamond Terrace Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa): Dark Chocolate-covered black cherries are nice, but prob. not as good as this. #
  • 06 Cliff Bar Family Winery 'The Climber' Red (CA): Like a mountain pass, things get rough. But the black fruit along the way is enjoyable. #

  • 90 Max Ferd. Richter Helenenkloster Riesling Spatlese (Mosel): Neon lemon vibrant color. Slight TCA, but the acidity is just screaming good. #
  • 02 Trefethen Library Selection Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley): Big, bold, but supremely focused. Ass-kicking black cherries dominate. #
  • 06 Inniskillin VIdal Gold Icewine (Niagara): Color, acidity, sugar, citrus, honeysuckle – it's all amped up to the extreme in this offering. #
  • 08 Black Box Chardonnay (Monterey): Yes, it's from a box, but if you're buying Yellowtail Chard instead of this easy-drinker, you're insane. #
  • 05 Innocent Bystander Bleeding Heart (Australia): Drinkable but somewhat dysfunctional Sangiovese/Merlot blend. Hints of pepper add interest #
  • 07 m2 Soucie Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel (Lodi): Dried black fruit, chocolate, & cola. Like James Bown's papa, this wine don't take no mess! #
  • 08 St. Supery Dollarhide Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley): Not subtle but certainly complex w/ passion fruit, citrus & grass. Great job on this #

  • 05 Cornerstone Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: Promises elegance, but you’ll need 4 yrs min. to tame those driveway-sealing tannins. #
  • 02 Cornerstone Cellars Howell Mtn Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa): Great now, but will improve if u can wait. Black fruit, spice, earth and funk. #
  • 04 Cornerstone Cellars Howell Mtn Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa): (Very) ripe & jammy red berry fruit dominates. Crazy good, but not cheap… #
  • 07 Rose Garden (Russian River): Stately & elegant rose with hints of strawberry & spices. Too bad they don’t sell it, ’cause it rocks… #
  • 07 Heron Hill Semi-Dry Riesling (NY): Well-balanced, solid, fruity offering that should be in your “match with Chinese take-out” arsenal. #
  • 08 Clos LaChance Glittering-Throated Emerald Unoaked Chardonnay (Monterey): Enough tropical, food-friendly fruit to warrant a tiny umbrella. #
  • 07 Clos LaChance Crimson Topaz Meritage (Central Coast): Red fruit & beef jerky funk. Drink it now, bring some grilled steak (and friends). #
  • 06 Clos LaChance Ruby-throated Cabernet Sauvignon (Central Coast): More red fruit than black, more good than bad, more bang for your buck. #

  • 06 Veramonte “Primus” (Colchagua):JAM on it. JAM on it. I said jam-j-j-JAM on it. Wikki-wikki-wikki-wikki. The beat is fresh y’all! #
  • 07 Golden Kaan Shiraz (W. Cape, SA): Fat red fruit & tons of pepper, and light on the $ – seems tailored made for a long-weekend barbecue. #
  • 06 Heron Hill eclipse (NY): VG blend of Chard, PB & PG. Melon, citrus & just the right amount of oak, which in this is case is not too much! #
  • 07 Waters Crest Night Watch Late Harvest (LI): Cloyingly sweet, but the acidity is rockin’ like Dokken. Might even toss some cake at it… #
  • 08 Alamos Torrontes (Catena): For the price, this wine kicks complete ass. Pineapple & peach, crisp finish… and the nose is *killer*… #
  • 05 Paumanok Petit Verdot (LI): Stellar vintage a very tasty result. Ripe dark cherry, leather, and spice. Saddle up & ride ‘em with pride! #
