1WineDude.com = FUBAR (It’s not you, it’s us!)

In the words of the wise and eloquent bard Homer Simpson, “DOH!”

Seems that 1WineDude.com is having some serious trouble this week. It’s possible that many of you have been getting very slow response times from the blog, having it time-out, or are receiving errors.

It’s not you, it’s most definitely us.

I do know about it, and so does my hosting provider, who is working on the issue now.  We’re hoping to have things running normally again very soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.  I’ll be keeping you updated on status via twitter as events warrant.

Don’t let a little thing like this come between us, okay?  I’ll make it up to you.  I promise.

    OK… here's the dillio, yo:

    - 1WD has been moved to a new server and a different OS (LINUX, in this case).
    - A bunch of backend database optimization work has been performed (by me… gulp!).
    - A new caching mechanism has been implemented for generating the pages of the 1WD blog..

    In other words, it seems to be fixed and actually running better than ever!

    Fingers crossed, of course…

    Server issues are always a mess. In some way I wish we could get there….that would mean more then the 30 daily visitors we're currently getting lol

    I'm not sure heavy traffic is the cause but I'm sure that server issues are a mess. :-)
