Thanks, Dylan! One thing is for sure, they gotta get those wines into people's gullets, because it's a good bet that people will *love* them once they try `em...

Joe, thanks for the range of perspectives you offered regarding the situation of Germany's Mosel Riesling. What's so fascinating to me is the fact that all three are so passionate about what they do, and they wish to achieve the same ends but with completely different means. Which way is technically right? It's difficult to say, but ultimately I would agree it's a matter of regaining consumer trust but letting them taste the wines again.

Thanks, bro. I'm badly in need of an editor.

As for who paid - it was underwritten by the EU, so it's European taxpayers! :-)

great post man! Loooong, but good! As always top notch reporting. I had not heard of the VDP, but am glad they are trying to meet the "problem" head on and realize that it won't be a quick fix. I love Schloss Lieser and was turned on to it a couple years ago and think it will be a BIG name in the near future but is currently a decent value.
cheers -
so which winery paid for this junket? Just wondering!! haha

Dude,

I'm actually writing a book about FL winemakers, and I'm halfway throught he HJW chapter. Would you mind emailing me a few more details about this? I'm fascinated, really. Did other people bring him up, or did you mention American wines? I'd love to know who said what!

I'm at epdaws@yahoo.com.

Mega thanks.
